In May 2012, sixteen students in the third grade of the Junior High School (SMP) Lurang attended the National Tests. For people not familiar with the Indonesian education system: these tests are the same all over Indonesia and are held in the same week throughout the whole country. Disciplines tested are Bahasa Indonesia, English, mathematics, social science and (exact) science.
The results were published by the District Department of Education in Kisar.
SMP Lurang produced the best results amongst the four Junior High Schools on Wetar: 100% of the students past the national tests.
Thanks to the big efforts from the public funded teachers, the two Yayasan Ina Rifa funded teachers, the teachers of English and several other Community Development staff members, SMP Lurang is hereby confirmed to be the best Junior High School on the island of Wetar.
Congratulations for the students and the teachers!
