This is the first time ever that PMR Madya (Youth Red Cross) was held on Wetar Island for the Maluku Barat Daya Region. Youth Red Cross held an inauguration on 4th – 6th of May 2012. This activity began on Friday afternoon and finished up on Sunday afternoon. Inspite of bad weather (rain every day), overall the event went as planned with the expected results.
The activities entailed written and practical examinations for the Junior High School Youth Red Cross, with the aim being to educate them about nationalism, develop the mental and spiritual creativity of students in decision-making. Activities were also held to give a sense of taking responsibility and also to emphasize the value of honesty in social life.
PT. Batutua Tembaga Raya through community development provided the 4 tents and 6 PMR responder bag equipments, and the trainers. The trainers have their responsibilities to the all main events such as: The lead coach of PMR, documentation and data, instructor patriotic material, logistic and events.
It was a very successful event for SMP Lurang and ComDev. This program will continue every year with the new participants and also the new enthusiasm. See You Next Year!
